PASSAGE: Hebrews 1:1-4

The Son’s Identity and Deeds

At creation God made it clear that He intended to communicate to His people. In the past he had spoken his message through prophets; most recently and finally, “he has spoken to us by his Son.”

As the creator of all things and the upholder of the universe, the Son of God is the rightful owner (“heir”) and ruler of all creation. He is considered the very “radiance of the glory of God” and represents his Father perfectly as the “exact imprint of His nature.”

What is the message that God chose to communicate through his Son? The message from the Father, spoken through the Son, is one of salvation and purification. The Son of God delivered himself as this message. Walking among the people of God and giving himself to make a way for purification from sin. Son of God was sent to make all of creation pure and holy again.
